HPG Educational Trust members call on the Honourable Governor, HP

HPG Educational Trust members, Dr Rajender Attri and Anshuk Attri met the Honourable Governor of Himachal, Sh. Shiv Pratap Shukla, at Raj Bhavan on December 23, 2024.

They apprised the Honourable Governor of the recent activity of their organisation and their educational exhibit that focuses on Dr Parmar, freedom movements, and the history of Himachal Pradesh. Since the exhibit has academic and historical significance, they requested the Governor to kindly direct the Government of Himachal to provide space to HPG Educational Trust in either Municipal Corporation Town Hall or Bantony Castle, to establish a permanent exhibit so that the students and people of the state, as well as the tourists, can learn about the history of Himachal.

HPG Educational Trust started as a photo gallery dedicated to Dr Parmar. The organisation has rare photographs of Dr Parmar depicting his personal and political life over the years. With time, the organisation has expanded its activities, and it aims to promote educational initiatives across the state. HPG Educational Trust works towards producing educational content, particularly focusing on the history of Himachal.

Presently, their educational exhibit also focuses on the freedom movements of Himachal and aims to honour the state’s unsung freedom fighters. HPG Educational Trust organises these exhibits for schools and colleges to educate young students about the state’s rich history.

HPG Educational Trust has recently published a reference book on Dr Parmar titled “Parmar: The Crafting of Himachal Pradesh – Vol I.” Available in both Hindi and English, this book contains history of Himachal from 1948 to 1952, particularly focusing on contributions of Dr Parmar. The book also contains rare newspaper articles and letters written by Dr Parmar.
